2024 Christmas Ad Tracker

14/11/2024

Christmas ads have arrived, jingling joy and nostalgia into our hearts, and with them is our annual Christmas ad tracker. Join us as we showcase this year’s most heartwarming and spirited offerings from brands around the globe. Let’s take a look at some of the holiday campaigns that have hit our screens so far!

Lidl – Magical Christmas

A wish fulfilling pair of magical bells gives one family all of their wishes, leaving one small girl a little conflicted…

Aldi Australia – Go a Little Extra This Christmas

This is a wonderfully funky spot, as granny says to just bring a turkey and a gravy boat. And, for whatever reason, this couple gets inspired to go big.

Aldi – Win the Holidays

A fun acerbic pair of spots that show us exactly how Aldi helps us deal with holiday stresses.

Amazon – Midnight Opus

A late night theatre janitor is secretly a talented singer… then his colleagues find out.

Barbour – Shaun the Sheep x Baa-Bour

Barbour has teamed up with some beloved British cartoons over the years, now once again joining up with Shaun the Sheep as the flock choir is too nippy to perform.

Boots – Make Magic

Mrs. Claus takes the spotlight and the workshop by storm, in a chic Boots glow up that’s giving fire!

Chelsea FC – Wrap Up Warm

Collaborating with the Barons Court Project to highlight the plight of those experiencing homelessness this winter, the charming piece sees a young fan crash Chelsea’s Christmas photoshoot.

Dan Murphy’s – Surprise Guests

Dan Murphy’s wine is so well priced that a woman has a little extra in her budget to get an extra bottle… for any surprise guests her son might bring home.

Debenhams – Duh, Debenhams

Liz Hurley, Ellie Taylor and Hannah Cooper-Dommett have the perfect solutions for all our Christmas shopping woes… and it’s Debenhams of course.

Disney – The Boy and the Octopus

With Taika Waititi’s tentacles all over it, this sweet short pairs two unlikely heroes in what feels like The Little Octopus-touille.

Etsy – Waldo/Wally Anthem

Etsy takes the key question of any gift-giver “Who is this person?” and applies it to one of our childhood heroes who only ever hears “Where is this person?”

Greggs – Happy Christmas Menu Returns

One of the Queens of Christmas, Nigella Lawson, helps sell Greggs festive selection.

JD Sports – Family Portrait

Once again Uncommon has taken on JD Sports’ Christmas offering, intentionally paring back the decorations to show us what Christmas is really about – friends and family.

John Lewis – The Gifting Hour

To find the perfect gift for her sister against the clock, a woman wanders Narnia-style through a coat rack in John Lewis only to find herself in memory lane.

Kettle Chips – The Must Have Bag This Christmas

Christmas ads really don’t have to be 4 minute long epics, and this short & sweet pseudo fashion shoot for Kettles is the proof. It’s actually shorter than this description.

Lego – Cataclaws

Santa Claws jokes pop up in Christmas crackers every year. Now it seems Lego has built it and given it the power to bring play to boys & girls of all ages.

Marks and Spencers – Christmas Starts Here

This is very literally a fun shake up to show off M&S’s Winter Collection, as a young girl finds a snow globe that really gets things moving inside her house.

Matalan – It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year…Right?

Everything feels rosy until this festive spot unveils the wonderful chaos that is family life.

Morrisons – Oven Mitts Choir

The oven mitt puppets are back at it again with Christmassy rendition of “We could’ve been anything”.

Myer – Share the Joy

This has a brilliant twist. Stay to the end and watch how this little girl heals this furry purple humbug’s heart.

Sainsbury’s – Big Phizz-Whizzing Christmas

Roald Dahl’s endearing BFG was brought wonderfully to life in Sainsbury’s heartwarming festive ad!

Sephora – Don’t Overthink It. Give Something Beautiful

The second of Taika Waiti’s Christmas ads this year is actually a series of four spots showing the moment confused gift givers see the light, and realise the gift to get is staring them in the face.

Shelter – World of Our Own

A touching space adventure between a father and daughter comes crashing back to earth…

Smyths Toys – Two Magical Words

Oh, the old “S word”… Smyths. The key to sending kids into a frenzy. This brilliant insight forms the bedrock of Smyth’s very funny Christmas spot.

Sports Direct – New Traditions

This energetic, sports star studded montage tells us that whether it’s a five-a-side or a park run, our Christmas traditions can be whatever we want them to be.

Tesco – Helping feed your Christmas Spirit

It’s a gingerbread spiced heartwarmer that shows us that the holidays can be bittersweet for some.

TK Maxx – Prices You Can’t Keep to Yourself

Telling people to shut up in an ad is pretty great, especially when it also tells everyone about your great prices.

Waitrose – Sweet Suspicion: A Waitrose Mystery

Part one of an excellent star-studded murder mystery where the criminal’s just desserts will be served to them in Part two. We think we’ve cracked who dunnit, and the proof is literally in the pudding.
