5 Football Clubs That Score Big On Tik-Tok


After a summer of speculation, pre-season preparation and transfer tugs-of-war, football is back. For the past couple of weeks, all eyes have been on the pitch as teams from all over the world look to gain an early advantage. The battle doesn’t end there however. This season seems to be the year of Tik-Tok, with more and more early adopter teams putting weight behind it. The Asian market is commercially huge for European Teams and with Tik-Tok amongst the most used social platforms in Asia, the two are the perfect marriage.

Let’s take a look at five football teams who have engaged the Asian and growing European audience on Tik-Tok, and the type of content that they are sending out.

1. Liverpool

Liverpool were the first Premier League team to join Tik-Tok in May of this year. They tend to share short videos and behind-the-scenes footage including training ground moments, entertaining clips, and video-worthy goal celebrations from first-team players. The most successful video to date is of Virgil van Dijk celebrating in the dressing after the Champions League final in May, taking in over 350k views.


2. Inter Milan

Inter Milan recently appointed a new chairman who has made it his mission to “win, entertain, inspire and connect people through football”. Tik-Tok is now part of that journey. Inter Milan uses TikTok to offer fans and those who they’d like to become fans exclusive content such as behind-the-scenes material, special goal celebrations, match highlights, archive footage or some very special fan choreographies. Furthermore, they offer exclusive messages from stars of the team.


3. Real Madrid

Arguably the most decorated football team in the world, Real Madrid take their Tik-Tok presence seriously. Here is a Tik Tok specific promotion of their US Tour, encouraging the public to follow the games.


 4. Bayern Munich

The football team that are at present topping the German soccer’s division, and who are succeeding across their social platforms with a following of 80 million fans over their 11 social accounts. The tiktok account, which has nearly 600k fans, will allow connected users to gain exclusive access to special video clips by the club and use special filters. The aim of creating this account is to engage fans more and provide them with exclusive content.


5. FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona has joined the trend and have decided to launch their official account on tiktok. The club has decided to join this platform with the hope of engaging with more of their younger fan base. The popular club currently has a following of around 340 million followers throughout their social accounts.
