2019 saw a new phrase enter the public consciousness in our endeavour to live our lives more sustainably. “Flygskam”, the Swedish for flight shame, is a concept whereby people are beginning to feel, and make others feel bad about taking unnecessary flights. Fueled by climate activism, it’s one example of how people are giving more consideration to how their day to day lives affect the environment.
